Michigan Genealogical Council

The Michigan Genealogical Council was organized on April 6, 1972 in Lansing, Michigan by representatives from ten Michigan genealogical societies and representatives from the Library of Michigan. They set as their objectives; to locate, preserve, publish and deposit in suitable repositories, records of value to genealogists and to initiate activities which encourage and assist those who are involved in genealogical research.

The Michigan Maritime Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Michigan Great Lakes waterways, maritime history, and culture. The Museum will provide a maritime education to the public.

The mission of MOHA is to provide for effective cooperation and communication among persons, programs and institutions concerned with the techniques, uses and promotion of oral history in Michigan.

Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society

The Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society collects, preserves, and displays documents, records, and memorabilia relating to the Michigan Supreme Court and the other Courts of Michigan, promotes the study of the history of Michigan’s courts, and seeks to increase public awareness of Michigan’s legal heritage.

The Society sponsors and conducts historical research, provides educational materials for students, and sponsors and provides publications, portraits and memorials, special events, and projects consistent with its mission.

Michigan Transit Museum

Michigan Transit Museum was established in 1973 as a non-profit corporation to compile and record historical data on mass transportation systems and equipment, and to collect, preserve, display and operate such equipment.

Milford Historical Society & Museum

The Milford Historical Society was founded in 1973 by a group of citizens who recognized the importance of the heritage of their community and wished to share it with their contemporaries and preserve it for those who will follow. To these ends, the members have established a museum, a research and archives room, and have sponsored, in conjunction with the Milford Township Library and the State of Michigan Library, the microfilming of the Milford Times newspaper beginning with the first issue in 1871

Motown Museum

Founded in 1985 by Esther Gordy Edwards, the Museum's mission is to preserve the legacy of Motown Record Corporation and to educate and motivate people, especially youth, through exhibitions and programs that promote the values of vision, creativity and entrepreneurship.

National Railway Historical Society

The National Railway Historical Society supports train, railway and station preservation projects with hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded in Heritage Grants, as well as education, photographic archives, events, publishing, standards definition and shared resources.

Northeast Oakland Historical Society & Museum

The Northeast Oakland Historical Society was organized in 1971 by a group of local citizens with a desire to preserve an awareness of this area's history and its artifacts. The society maintains the museum, which is staffed by volunteers. Twice a year, the Northeast Oakland Historical Society hosts an informal social gathering which features a speaker on topics of historical interest.

Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society

The Society provides educational and cultural experiences through our four main attractions: Governor Moses Wisner homestead, known as Pine Grove; Drayton Plains One Room School, moved to the property in 1965; Research Library and Archives, containing extensive materials often not available elsewhere; Pioneer Museum, highlighting the county's rural past.

The Packard Motor Car Foundation is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the preservation of the products, history, and properties of The Packard Motor Car Company. The Foundation's activities, to support our goals, include fundraising, affiliations with museums, clubs, and programs of education, which will place us in a position to seek out, identify and participate in the preservation of the legacy of all American automobile companies.

Piast Institute

Piast develops conferences, seminars, publications, public programs, lectures, and exhibits that provide accurate, timely and current information about Poland, Poles, and Polish Americans. Piast Institute also acts as a data resource center helping Polish, Polish American and other community groups develop policy papers and historical, cultural, political, economic, social, and demographic studies on a wide variety of topics.
