Black and white aerial photograph cut from a proof sheet taken of downtown from Grand Circus Park north past Mack Avenue, taken from a point above Washington Boulevard facing northwest. Cass Avenue, Clifford Street, Park Avenue, Woodward Avenue, Witherell Street, and John R Street run vertically through the photo. The tops of the Statler Hotel, and David Broderick Tower, as well as the Fyfe Building, the Fine Arts Building, the Kales Building, Central United Methodist Church, the Palms Theatre, the Fox Theatre, the Wolverine Hotel, St. John's Episcopal Church, I-75, the Donovan Building, and the Masonic Temple are all in view. Part of the photographer's plane is captured along the bottom of the image. "City of Detroit, Report & Information, 72101, Photographic," was stamped on the verso of the proof sheet, however the final digit was hand-corrected to "2."
