John's House of Jazz

Black and white photographic print mounted on board (and one copy, not on board) depicting an African American man wearing a suit and fedora standing behind the counter of John's House of Jazz. The counter that he stands behind holds batteries, an adding machine, an ashtray, magazines and a record player, as well as records. A poster hangs from the front of the counter that reads "The Aims and Purpose of Muhammad: A Hospital for Our Sick. 'Help This Great man to Help Us All. Help Him to Build This Badly Needed Hospital!' - Eugene Majied". Records are displayed on the left wall, along different sized photographs of artists and other people. A doorway can be seen to the left. On the right wall, a sign reading "Diamond Needles" can be seen, as well as a calendar, eight tracks, and a display of needles. More records can be seen on display to the far right, including those done by recording and comedy artists such as Shaftman, Redd Foxx, Johnnie Taylor, and Rudy Ray Moore.
