Graf Zeppelin, Detroit, Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1929

Sepia-toned photograph of the German airship LZ 127 GRAF ZEPPELIN afloat over downtown Detroit at night, illuminated by spotlights atop the Penobscot, as taken from a roof top in the vacinity of Washington Boulevard and Michigan Avenue to the northwest. The beams of light, the outline of the Penobscot, and its antenna all appear to have been retouched. The Book-Cadillac Hotel, the Ford Building, and the Barlum Tower are all in view as well.
