Baggage Room

Black and white photographic print mounted on board depicting the entrance to the baggage room in Michigan Central Station from a hallway. A sign above the door reads "Baggage Room Hours: 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.". A sign posted to a luggage rack inside the room reads "positively no admittance". Two Amtrak signs hang on the wall in the hall to the right of the entryway to the baggage room, one stating "Notice: CHANGE in train schedules effective Sunday, April 30, 1972. PUBLIC TIME TABLES AFFECTED. Will be reissued - consult Agents". The second sign reads "Amtrak: America's first nationwide passenger rail system". Dated January, 1973.
