A typewritten note on the verso shows "DE Photo 695-1436. Detroit Edison's newest electric power generator, Monroe Power Plant Unit One, is 160 feet long and capable of producing enough electricity to supply a community of more than 800,000 people. With the addition of the new unit, the Detroit Edison system will have a total generating capacity of 6,970,000 kilowatts. The company has an additional 4,554,000 kilowatts of capacity under construction or on order.
