Photograph. Black and white photo showing a workman who is using an arc welder on the end of a steel pipe. The workman is wearing protective gear as he straddles a steel pipe that is approximately 12 inches in diameter. He is also wearing an oval-shaped button over his left shirt pocket that shows "S. C. 2207" and "Special Contractor." Possibly, this was an identification badge which indicated that he was not an employee of Detroit Edison. The pipe is located outdoors adjacent to several rows of similar pipe sections.
