Print. Black and white photographic print of a large Christmas sign affixed to the exterior of The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The sign features holiday ornamentation and reads, "A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You." Holiday trimmings, including garland and Christmas trees also adorned the exterior of the department store. The photographic sequence number, and date are printed on the bottom of the recto, "42783; Dec. 2, 1941." The name of the photography studio and geographic location are stamped on the verso, "Smith Brothers, Commercial Photographers, Arcadia Bldg., Woodward & Stimson, Detroit, Mich."
