Print. Sepia-toned photographic print of the shoe shines station at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Chairs are aligned on either side of the locale; a cabinet with shoe-shine products is fashioned at the end of the room. A small sign affixed to the left wall above the shoe-shine station reads, "Expert Shoe Repairing While You Wait." The photographic sequence number, name and location of photographer are printed on the bottom of the recto, "12620; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer; Detroit."
