Print, Photographic

Sepia-toned photo of the hull of the 40' commuter cruiser manufactured by Gar Wood Incorporated being tested on the St. Clair River. The boat passes with its starboard side to the camera. Several figures are on board. The photo has been heavily retouched to accent many of the image's lines. A typewritten caption pasted on the verso on Advertisers Incorporated stationery reads:

Trial Run of the Gar Wood Cruiser

Traveling with throttle open at forty miles an hours, the first stock Gar Wood cruiser was given her trial tests at the Marysville plant of Gar Wood Incorporated. Note how gracefully she planes through the water at top speed.
