Black and white photographic print depicting the decorative doors and fleurs-de-lis pattern grating at the Rare Book Room at the Detroit Public Library. The doors lists printers' names and dates of their life.

Caption reads: Motor News --- Detroit Library Story. Priceless treasures are contained in the rare book section of the Main Library. Names of early printers are incised in gold leaf in the ebony doors of the room. Polished brass grilles in a fleur-de-lis design suggesting the gold tooling of book bindings of the 16th Century flank the doors. The design by Architect Frank Keally, is based on bindings made for Jean Grolier, French bibliophile.
