Black and white photographic print of two young school children dressed in period clothing, are roleplaying in the 19th century classroom exhibit inside the Detroit Historical Society. Typed on the verso, "Now, let's see you spell it right.' Sandy Stille, 5, and Barry Whall, 3, try out the reconstructed 19th century classroom in the Detroit Historical Museum's new Hall of Urban History. School was just as hard then. The classroom, on the second floor of the Kresge Exhibit Hall, comes complete with bookcase, wooden blackboard and dunce stool. The period desks are for modern students on museum tours."
