Visible in the background is Detroit River fireboat the S.S. JOHN KENDALL; attendees can be seen looking out the large windows toward the fireboat. Typed on the verso, "Midwest Museum Conference, Sept. 1971." Also, the name of the photographer is stamped on the verso, "Photo by Harry J. Wolf, 1686 Evans Ave., Detroit 9, Mich."
