He is wearing a stocking cap with tassel and a patterned blanket covers his legs. Two posts at the front of the wooden bed are visible. A wooden five-drawer dresser is shown on the left side of the image, with an open cigar box, an electric candle lamp, and other items on top. Presumably, this is a staged photo which shows the potential hazards of falling asleep in bed while smoking. A red ink stamp on the verso shows "Official D.F.D. Photo, by Insp. J. A.
