Three Detroit Fire Department vehicles are parked on the street in the foreground and several firemen can be seen at work in the background. Two water jets are being directed into the burning structure which is creating huge clouds of billowing smoke. Handwriting on the verso shows "5 alarm at Edgar's Sugar House, 14th and Bagley, June 4, 1949."
