Photograph. Black and white photo of a water tower fire truck which shows both sides of the vehicle. A small sign on the ground near the truck notes "The Seagrave Co., Columbus, Ohio; 35350." A typewritten label on the verso notes "1924 Seagrave Water Tower; This Apparatus was the forerunner of the present day 'Snorkels' or aerial platfroms. This truck was in active service until 1953. The tower could be raised to a height of 65 feet to direct a stream of water onto a fire from above. With the introduction of longer steel aerial ladders, water towers were soon discontinued." The name, "Jim Leininger, 1061 - 17th St., Wyandotte, Mich. 48192," is stamped in black ink on the verso.
