Black and white photograph of the construction site, presumably for the Veterans Memorial Building, and its workers on the south side of Jefferson Avenue along the Detroit River. The Pontchartrain Hotel is visible in the left background, and Vernor's Ginger Ale is visible in the right central background. The date and image number are printed on the lower right corner of recto, "10-15-1947, 174252." Written on verso, "Crew working for Walsh Construction Co., head quartered in New York, in 1947, removing old buildings along Detroit River front and driving pile for the foundations for the new Cobo Hall." Stamped on verso, "Manning Bros. Commercial Photographers, 16300 Brush Street, (Block South of 6 Mile) Highland Park 3, Mich."
