Print, Photographic

Black and white photographic print on beige paper of a group of men, women, and a small boy standing amid crops on a farm or large garden. Two signs are posted. The one of the left reads, "Kto Daje biednym Pozycza Bogu," the Biblical passage, "he who gives to the poor, lends to God" in Polish. The sign on the right reads, "The Name of the man who originated this system will be hande (sic) down to posterity." Given the era and reference to charity in their signs this likely depicts one of "Pingree's Potato Patches."
