Print, Photographic

Sepia-toned photo of an air conditioning unit installed within Crowley Milner's in an area stocked with linens, blankets, pillows, and towels, taken from a photo album of air conditioning installations done by the Detroit Ice Machine Company in 1937. Above the shelves on the far wall are the building's windows. A blur behind the counter on the far right remains where a worker was wrapping a box during the exposure. "M-2017," is printed in the lower right corner of the photo, corresponding to the description "Air Cooling Units," on the table of contents page (2008.039.003). The photo is mounted on a linen photo album page with a flap on the left hand side with three holes for binding.
