Print, Photographic
Black and white photographic print mounted on fabric depicting the inside of the Dressler Kiln at the Champion Porcelain Co.
Caption on verso reads: Dressler Kiln after shut-down in August 1927, after 21 months' continuous oil firing.
General view looking north from hot zone showing first two carborundum chamber sections and damper boxes. Note how the damper box walls are tipped in at the top, largely due to oxidation and swelling of mortar joint material in the back side of the walls. The swollen joints also show on the top courses, particularly at the far end of the damper box walls.
