Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display which features a wedding gown and bridesmaid dress available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The bride, standing in the left foreground of the window is dressed in a tiered gown with ruffled bodice, a head piece and waist-length veil; she holds a bouquet of flowers in her hand. The bridesmaid dress, featured on the mannequin on the right side of the display features a single tiered skirt, and off-the-shoulder neckline with ruffle detail; she too holds a basket of flowers and greenery in her hand. A fluted column and archway ornaments the background, along with potted flower arrangements and ferns. Signage affixed to the column reads, "Bride's Week - a Tradition at Hudson's, The Bride and Her Party, Gowned in Sheer Billowing Dresses - So Dainty, So Feminine, Bridal Shop… Sixth Floor, Gratiot." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "4-11-49; 23819-17x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
