Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring ladies work-wear fashions available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Four female mannequins are featured in the display, and each is dressed in daywear or outerwear. The far left mannequin and the central-right mannequins are wearing calf-length dresses with front button enclosures, a cinched or belted waist, and cuffed three-quarter length sleeves. The left-center mannequin features ladies suiting which include a straight calf-length skirt, knit top, and textured jacket with lapel; visible on the far right mannequin is a mid-length overcoat with front button enclosure. Each of the mannequins is accessorized with hats, gloves, handbags, and footwear. A typewriter and copies of 'Glamour' magazine are visible in the foreground, also visible is signage which reads, "Hudson's and Glamour bring you clothes for The Girl with a Job, career fashions sized for you and your budget, College Shop - 5th Floor, Woodward… Section F." Four images of young ladies with jobs are affixed to the background, clockwise from top left, the small signs notating each image read, "Alice Zakon, Office Clerk, Burroughs Adding Machine Co.; Lillian Jacques, Assistant Branch Manager, Commonwealth Bank; Peggy Buczkowski, Senior Typist, Detroit Board of Education; and Mary Lou Hunt, Secretary, Park Davis & Company." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "9-7-52; 25398; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
