Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring differing types of ladies play clothes available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Four female mannequins are featured in the display all standing amongst fisherman's netting, and an oversized seahorse. Each of the women are dressed in a differing type of dress including a patterned sun dress, a strapless short dress with peplum, a suit with pleated skirt and three button jacket, and a button down dress, with short sleeves, button enclosures on the front, and a belt to cinch the waist. Signage affixed to the rear of the display features a muddler and reads, "Soap 'n Water Fabrics, Unconditionally Washable!" Also, signage in the central foreground reads, "Soap 'n Water, Pack 'n' Go Fashions, Specially Designed for Vacation Travel, Via Land, Sea or Air, Beach and Playclothes Shop, Fifth Floor, Summer Dress Shop, Sixth Floor." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "5-12-47; 22820-2x; Davis B. Hillmer."
