Four women are sitting at desks, with telephones and typewriters, and appear to be monitoring and taking orders. A series of filing cabinets are visible on the left side of the department. Signage affixed to the wall reads, "Victory is our Business." The date is visible on the calendar in the background, "April, 1943." The photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "18788-4x; Davis B. Hillmer."
