"[40]26" is painted on the doors of the building near the center of the shot. Dirt and rubble are piled on the sidewalk before the building to the right. A boy and two men walk along the sidewalk in front of the buildings. The photo's border is printed with the date July 1968. "4030 West Vernor, Detroit" is handwritten on the verso.
