Photograph. Sepia-toned glossy photo that shows a crowd of spectators gathered around two steam engines that are parked on a large open field. One of the steam engines is being pulled by a team of horses and the other is being pulled by a small truck. The hood of the truck shows "M.F.D. No. 2." (Possibly, these vehicles were part of the Macomb or Mt. Clemens Fire Department.) Several firemen in uniforms can be seen on and near the trucks. A city skyline (possibly Mt. Clemens) is visible in the background. The business name, "Acme Glove Works," is painted on the water tower near the upper right corner of the photo. Handwriting on the verso shows "Early motorized tractor demonstration." A black ink stamp on the verso shows, "L. B. Van Vliet & Co., Commercial Photographers, Whittier 1579, 7909 Mack Avenue, Detroit, Mich."
