The centerpiece consists of a cast iron stove holding a bouquet of flowers and a ribbon with the text, "Detroit Historical Commission." The stove stands atop a pair of books with "Social History" printed on their spines. "Centerpiece - was 2nd place in annual competition at the 'Salute to Top Ten Working Women Banquet.' 1968 - Margat P. Pearsall one of Top Ten," is handwritten on the verso.
