A black and white photo of the Old Fort Wayne Sally port entrance, looking south/southwest. The Sally port entrance was designed to allow the Fort defenders to attack, disrupt enemy troops and retreat. It was never actually used in a combat situation. Above and behind the wall is an earthen mound used for defense. Original photograph was glued to a cardboard backing and the photo's age is difficult to determine but can be assumed to be around 1975.
