Print. Black and white photographic print of the Self-Made Chic exhibition held in the auditorium at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The large chart affixed to the rear of the display notes all the period of fashion from Egyptian times to present day, 1940s. The teacher's desk, chair, and books are also featured. Two female mannequins flank the left and right side of the display, and each features a the latest fashions, including a hat and shoes. Signage adjacent to the mannequin on the right reads, "Fabric Fashion Fair, Kindergarten to College - School Fashions, You'll Want for Your Children Consult with Miss Helen Yeo - From the American Pattern Company, Presented by The Pattern Department, Third Floor, Bridge." The photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "18575-8x; Davis B. Hillmer." Also, stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer, Photographer, 448 West Ferry Avenue, Detroit."
