Print. Black and white photographic print of the Self-Made Chic exhibition held in the auditorium at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Featured in the display are two mannequins, one a male dressed in a paratrooper's uniform, and a female mannequin dressed in a long dress for work. Differing style fashions are featured for the man and woman; photographs are displayed with the clothing to depict the best use. Signage in the left-center of the display reads, "Fabric Fashion Fair… Work Clothes for Women… New Designs and Patterns for Farm, Home and Factory Wear. Sponsored by the Bureau of Home Economics, U.S. Department of Agriculture." The photographic sequence number is printed on the bottom of the recto, "18575-4x." Also, stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer, Photographer, 448 West Ferry Avenue, Detroit."
