Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display advertising the 17th Annual Housewares Exposition at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The window features the differences in dishware between 1900 and 1950. Two female mannequins are also dressed in clothing from the two represented time periods. Signage in the central foreground reads, "Your Homemaking World Past Present Trends, Hudson's 17th Housewares Exposition, January 16 through 28, Start Touring Anywhere and see all the exciting exhibits on the 'Block Big,' 10th Floor, Lenox China, and New Pieces in Fine China." Signage affixed to the rear of the display features planet earth with a home affixed to the front of it, and a surrounding diagonal ring with three smaller signs which read, "Past, Present, Trends." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "1-19-50; 23974-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
