The crane barge, "No. 37" of Fitz Simons & Connell Dredge & Dock Company is moored along the front of the seawall. Earth embankments can be seen in the foreground and background along the edges of shorelines. The project site was located in the Chicago area. A black ink stamp on the verso reads "Calumet Studio, Chicago, Arthur P. Stalla, SO 8-1951. Reorder No. FS5703." Handwritten blue ink text reads "Job FC 1049, Material Service, 500' Dock, Contract awarded 1-10-57."
