One black and white photograph showing an aerial view of the new development, McCormick Place, that is under construction on the Chicago waterfront. Three crane barges are constructing seawalls in the center and lower foreground areas of the photo as part of the land reclamation work for the new development. The Shedd Aquarium is visible in the upper left corner along with Burnham Harbor, the Adler Planetarium, and Meigs Field airport. Lake Shore Drive is visible along the waterfront at the left side of the photo and Lake Michigan is visible on the right side. A typewritten label near the lower right corner reads "Dock Wall South of McCormick Place, FS 1216, September 18, 1965, Looking From South to North." The construction work was being done by the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation. A black ink stamp on the verso reads "Calumet Studio, Arthur P. Stalla, SO 8-1951, Reorder No. FS6564." An additional black ink stamp reads "Fitz Simons & Connell Dredge & Dock Division, Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Co., 3025 East 14th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60617."
