Print, Photographic

One black and white photograph (and one copy) of steel sheet piling being placed for a cofferdam or new dock construction at the Bethlehem Steel Company. The photo shows a view of the sheet piling which appears to be arranged to form a large circle. The crane barge, "CHEROKEE," of the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation is moored near the structure and is placing a section of steel sheet piling at the back side of the structure. A rocky shoreline is visible at the left side of the photo. Coal piles, a steel furnace, and conveyors are visible in the far background. A typewritten label along the lower edge of the photo reads "Bethlehem Steel Co. - Lackawanna, New York, 1953, Ore and Steel Handling Facilities."
