One black and white photograph of a welder who is working on a steel pipeline. He is lying on the ground and appears to be cutting the pipe along a weld line. There appears to be a hole in the pipe above his left elbow and he may be cutting the pipe in order to remove the defective or damaged section. A black ink stamp on the verso reads "Collins Construction Co., Submarine Pipeline Specialists, Victoria, Texas. If you wish to reorder from this print, please ask for # ---, Collins Construction Co., Photo Dept." This pipeline was being prepared for placement across the Straits of Mackinac as part of the Lakehead Pipeline project that was being managed by the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation.
