Each is holding a Bible along with a certificate that is rolled up and tied with a ribbon or cord. The girls are all wearing white dresses and the boys are wearing dark-colored suits. The pastor, Rev. August G. Bergener, is wearing a clerical robe and is seated at the center of the photo. A plain wall is visible in the background. An embossed label at the lower right corner reads "Rembrandt Studios, Detroit." Several persons in the photo are identified on a separate handwritten note as follows:
