Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring home furnishings for the foyer sold at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A man and woman stand in the foyer setting, flanked by two wood arm chairs with upholstered cushions, the man's hat and gloves are placed upon the seat cushion. Also, they are standing in front of a heavily carved chest of drawers which features two candlesticks, and a large urn with a floral arrangement. A painting in a gilded frame is affixed to the wall above. Two doors flank either side of the chest, and neighbor the chairs. A Greek key is engraved in the wall above the door lintels, and wraps around the foyer. Signage in front of the chest reads, "Make Mine Country-Style, HOME FURNISHINGS in the country manner… warm-hearted, straightforward, adaptable to many moods… Here, interpreted in a FRENCH PROVINCIAL FOYER SETTING." Smaller signage left of the large sign reads, "Make Mine Country-Style, Merchandise available on all the Home Furnishings floors, Mezzanine, Third Floor, Eighth Floor, Ninth Floor, Tenth Floor, Eleventh Floor, Twelfth Floor, Thirteenth Floor." Also small signs are visible in the right and left corners of the window display, the sign on the far right reads, "New Hudson Service! Shop by Phone, Extended Telephone Shopping Service, Monday through Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 9 p.m." The far left sign reads, "Hudson's is open every Monday Evening until 8:30."
