The view looks along one of the upper side decks and shows many passengers who are standing or are seated in deck chairs. Although the weather is sunny, a fair number of passengers are wearing jackets or sweaters. In the center background, Clarice Hoskins is wearing a dark coat and is standing behind a woman who is holding a white purse. Handwritten black text on the verso reads "Sunday, August 17, 1941," and "on Sun Deck - Horse races."
