One black and white photograph (and one copy) of the ore dock construction at the National Tube Company division of the U. S. Steel Corporation in Lorain, Ohio. The elevated view looks along the shoreline of the Black River and shows a new dock under construction in the foreground with an existing dock in the background. A Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation crane barge, scow, and a small tugboat are at work in the construction area. Four Hulett unloaders can be seen at the existing dock at the top center area of the photo. Large iron ore and limestone piles are visible in the far background. A typewritten label along the lower edge of the photo reads "National Tube Div., U.S. Steel Co. - Lorain, Ohio, 1947. Ore Dock - Black River."
