The photo shows a port side view of the ship which is moored at a dock in the shipyard. Workmen are proceeding with fitting out work on the deck. The Saginaw River is visible in the foreground and a portion of a bridge pier fender wall can be seen at the far left side of the photo. Shipyard buildings are visible in the left and right background areas. Handwritten text in the lower right corner reads "Saginaw Ship Bldg. Co., Yard #130, E.F.C.
