Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two male mannequins dressed in United States Navy enlisted uniforms are featured on a life raft in front of a mural of a sinking ship. Signage held in the hand of the right mannequin reads, "Tell the folks to keep on buying bonds - they saved our lives - keep it up - thanks." Signage affixed to the center of the raft reads, "Navy Life Raft, for rescuing fliers downed at sea. This raft is slightly imperfect and of no military value. It is the property of the United States Rubber Company and will be scrapped for reclaim upon its return to the factory. United States Rubber Company." Smaller signs are visible affixed to the raft noting the differing parts on board. Also, signage in the central foreground reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "8-20-43; 18866-3x; Davis B. Hillmer."
