Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A large advertisement is featured in the window in front of ornamented spears and neighboring the American flag. The advertisement features men from three branches of military service, Army, Navy and the Army Air Corps; men and women are featured being the service men. The advertisement reads, "Back up the Men and Women Who are Fighting For You! Join the Gallant Sixty Thousand, Pledged to see $60,000,000 worth of extra war bonds in April. Are you one of the thousands of patriotic Detroiters who are eager to do more to help win the war? Here's your opportunity! The Second War Loan (to be announced in a few days) will as America for Thirteen Billion Dollars! There's a tremendous job to be done! You can help sell these bonds. You can enroll in Michigan's Gallant Sixty Thousand - every one pledged to do his level best to sell at least $1,000 worth of bonds in April. Be ready to volunteer! Help put America's Second War Loan over the top! This appeal sponsored by Detroit's Retail Merchants." Smaller signage neighboring the advertisement reads, "They give their lives... You lend your money. WANTED! 13 Billion Fighting Dollars for our Fighting Men *2nd War Loan* Buy More War Bonds and Stamps*** NOW." Also, signage is affixed in the bottom of the foreground and reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Deliver War Bonds 11th Floor, Woodward Section D." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "4-10-43; 18787-4x; Davis B. Hillmer."
