Negative, Glass-plate
Monochromatic glass-plate negative taken costumed performers on a parade float during the Blue Bird Pageant on Belle Isle. A woman in a gown with a tall collar sits at the back of the float, while other women in gowns, and men dressed as a jester, clown, and a cat are ahead of her. Another float in the shape of a ship is in the background, as are a group of women dancing in a circle, a sun-shaped stage with doors painted with trees, and rows of spectators. The negative was previously housed in a non-archival envelope with the pre-printed return address, "H.W. Johns-Manville Co., 72 Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, Mich. Asbestos & Magnesia Products." A handwritten note along the right edge of the envelope read, "453, Performers on "Light" Float, Blue Bird Pageant, Belle Isle, 8/25/27, Exclusive Central Press."
