Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the port side of the Provident Steamship Company freighter JAMES H. HOYT, under steam. A figure is on the flying bridge and another is at the stern. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "Pittsburg S.S. Co. - A.B. Wolverine Mgrs, chartered 1903-1911," is incorrectly handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previously housed the plate.
