Digital scan of a sepia-toned photo overlooking the construction site for the Detroit terminal of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, as taken from a point above its west side, above Bates Street, facing northeast. Woodbridge runs along the left side of the image. A large excavation, supported by wooden bracings, has been made along Woodbridge. Two cranes are working beside the pit. Construction supplies and equipment are scattered around the site. A sign that reads, "Site of Entrance to Detroit & Canada Tunnel Terminal Approach and Ventilation Bldg. Under Construction By Parklap Construction Corporation, New York City, Detroit," is posted near the center of the site. The storefronts of Shaw-Walker and the Crescent Electric Company are along Woodbridge on the left. "Detroit & Canada Tunnel - Section 5. Construction Work in Terminal Block. From West. #1 of 4. Feb 28, 1929, 8B-41," was handwritten on the verso.
