One brass and steel elevator floor indicator sign from the Farmer Street section of the J. L. Hudson Company store in downtown Detroit. The semi-circular sign has narrow raised bands at the edges and decorative rosettes in the lower corners. Brass numbers are shown along the arc to indicate the floor numbers that were served by this elevator: "3B [basement], 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 13, 16, 19, R [roof]." Small brass diamond-shaped markers fill the spaces on the arc for the floors that were not served by this elevator: 2B, 1B, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 20. A hole for the floor indicator arrow (missing) is located at the lower center edge of the sign. No manufacturer's names or marks are shown.
