Scissors

One pair of scissors that were used by Mayor Albert E. Cobo to cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony at the Detroit Historical Museum on July 24, 1951. The scissors are made of gold-plated steel and consist of two blade/handle pieces that are held together with a single screw at the center. One side is stamped "#138 Inlaid" and the other is stamped "Clauss, Fremont, O. [Ohio]." The number, "33," is stamped on the inside surface of each blade/handle piece near the screw.
