Sauceboat

One small sauceboat from a dining room of one of the Lake Michigan car ferries of the Pere Marquette Railway. The narrow, oval-shaped sauceboat is made of white glazed china. It has an open top, a long spout, gently-curved sides, a decorative curved handle with a narrow blue stripe on the outside, and an oval-shaped base. A narrow blue band encircles the outside of the sauceboat just below the rim and a very narrow blue stripe encircles the oval base just above the bottom edge. A blue image of one of the company ferries is stamped at the center of one side of the sauceboat along with blue text that reads "Pere Marquette." The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Albert Pick Co., Inc., Chicago," and "Vitrified China."
