One small commemorative plate of the ship locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The squarish plate is made of glazed white china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a circular inner edge and a short circular base. The outer edge is scalloped and has angled corners. Gold-colored stripes are painted along the outer and inner edges of the rim. The center of the plate has a sepia-colored drawing of a passenger steamship in the locks. Sepia-colored printed text beneath the drawing reads "Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Canada." The underside is stamped with black printed text that reads "Royal Winton, Made in England."
