Freighters at Buffalo

One framed watercolor painting of "Freighters at Buffalo." The painting shows a nighttime image of two freighters that are anchored in the harbor at Buffalo. The port quarter of the S.B. WAY of the Columbia Transportation Company is visible at the center of the painting. The port side aft section of the HARRY L. FINDLAY of the Kinsman Marine Transit Company is visible in the right background. Both ships have black hulls with gray/white cabin structures and lights are visible on both vessels. The sky has dense gray streaks which fade out to white at the horizon. The water is blueish-grey with whitecaps. The artist has signed his name, "Edward J. Dowling, 1945," at the lower right corner. The painting is mounted in a plain black wood frame with a white matte border and protective glass.
